initiation details; as soon as the choosing ceremony is over, all dauntless (both members and initiates) must jump on a moving train. those who fail to make the jump, become factionless. the next stage is to jump off the moving train onto a rooftop, if you fail to comply the repercussions are the same as before. it is a way of picking off the cowards in the beginning, according to the dauntless. the initiates who have made it to the rooftop then jump down a hole into the dauntless headquarters, were the final stages of their initiation continue. there are three stages: the game stage, the fighting stage, and the fear stage. you are given different ranks for each of these stages, each rank weighted unequally, and the final rankings determine whether or not you become a full dauntless member or are subjegated to becoming a patrol guard.
about dauntless; The Dauntless love a good adrenaline rush, and never let others dictate their behaviours, being quite headstrong at times. They always do what they believe is right no matter how difficult or frightening it is. They believe that the world would be better off if people were not afraid to do what was necessary to make things right. Others might find members of this faction abrasive and rude, but at the same time see them as strong and bold. The Dauntless wear the colour black, and majority of their members can be found with at least one tattoo or more decorating their skin.
