wada sez: This strip was drawn by the late Andrew Sorohan, a prolific and renowned fanartist present since the early years of online fandom. Officially, he drew art for some Mini-Con profiles published by the Transformers Collectors’ Club. As for the script—Monacus was a seedy gambling town on an asteroid, seen in the Smokescreen spotlight episode “The Gambler”. These goons never actually appeared in the cartoon. On deviantART, Sorohan noted: “Originally it was going to have Squeezeplay be shot in the back. I even drew that up in the rough version of the strip. But both Dave Newman and I thought it didn't work. The decapitation came as a replacement for that. I think Dave Reynolds really made it work by making the tech spec meter zeroing out really obvious with his colours.” Naturally, this means the attack was probably non-lethal, as that's his Headmaster partner Lokos getting removed! As preparation for this strip, Sorohan drew up character models for its entire cast, which are included alongside the clean inks below. The Firecons in particular took a couple of passes before Sorohan was happy with them. I’ve also thrown in a Japanese translation by Barricade 643!
