I wish I didn't have to ask for help again, but I genuinely need help. I haven't been able to work since mid 2024 due to worsening health and undiagnosed conditions, which I have only recently been able to get recognized by doctors and properly diagnosed.
I have been through the gambit over the past year and a half with back doctors and rheumatoidologists who tell me its all my fault and that I simply need to," Get a gym membership and lose weight." I have RA (rheumatoid arthritis), and my current rheumatoidologist is refusing to treat me because she doesn't think it's RA (she ran 3 different tests that scored positive for RA).
The back doctor, at the same practice, parroted the same sentiment when he told me he couldn't help me until I lost weight. I asked him, "How am I supposed to lose weight when everything I do, from sitting to standing to moving, causes me immense pain? How am I supposed to eat better when I can't work due to pain? I have to go food banks, due to no money; how am I supposed to lose weight by eating corn flakes and potatoes? How am I supposed to afford a gym membership when I can't even afford food?" And he just shrugged and walked out.
I have applied for disability, and I got my denial in the mail, so I am currently searching for a disability lawyer. The only saving grace here is that I convinced my father to come with me to see my PCP who referred me to an actual pain management specialist. These people actually take me seriously and have helped me so much, but it just sucks that no one will take my disabilities seriously merely because I am a big woman. If I hadn't started seeing the pain management practice in January, I probably would have given up from the immense and daily pain I endure.
So, please, if you have anything to spare, I genuinely need some help. I am $350 behind on rent, utiltities are due in 2 weeks, and then we have rent again. I currently have $5 in my bank account and $1 in my wallet.
