As the year is gearing back up, we’ve been receiving more and more new work from our artists, who have been busy in the studio over the summer months. This week we’re thrilled to announce the latest two new linocuts by David Frazer.

Slow Boat (Study II) and Wounded Wood II both exhibit the technical mastery and narrative intrigue for which Frazer is known (and highly collected!). In intricate linocut details, Frazer renders his landscapes and characters. With such meticulous detail given to scenes of the Australian ‘everyday’ these print, Frazer transforms how we perceive the familiar. Objects and landscapes that would ordinarily be given little concern are instead offered at points of contemplation and particular interest – they are ‘characters’ of the landscape, imbued with their own narratives and unknown origins.

We are also excited to announce that Frazer will be debuting a major etching later in the year – so, collectors and fans of Frazer: watch this space!

Watch This Space: new print by David Frazer

Coming soon to PJP as a part of his September solo exhibition Slow Boat is David Frazer’s gobsmacking 120 x 180 cm linocut, Slow Boat. Literally fresh off the press, we can’t wait to present this work during the exhibition, which will include an official opening by the artist on Saturday 3rd September 2-4PM. In the meantime, please enjoy this amazing video of the work’s first printing!

Slow Boat will run from the 1st – 22nd of September.
