1982-83 Happy Valley

During the 82-83 season McKellar suffered from a persistent back injury and fell out with Brentford manager Fred Callaghan. His contract was cancelled, but the club retained his registration. Unable to play in England he joined Happy Valley.

So yesterday I drove up to Birmingham for a reunion of people who worked on the children’s TV series Tiswas. It turned out there were 100 fans there too.

Everyone I knew years ago seem to have grown white hair and beards or both apart from presenter Sally James and you can never be too sure of anything nowadays.

The Black Ships have contributed to Johnny Boy Would Love This... A Tribute to John Martyn. The tribute album is filled with covers of the folk rock singer-songwriter's original songs, taken from his rich career which spanned more than 40 years and 20 albums. Martyn died in 2009.

Rope Soul'd is the song covered by the Black Ships and features David McKellar on vocals.
