i get so sad when i hear people only talking about david bowie's 70s/ early 80s albums and blackstar as being "great". i mean yes yes of course they absolutely are but. black tie white noise?? outside?? earthling ??? HEATHEN?? reality ? the next day????

his later albums just have such a special place in my heart despite my immense love for the earlier ones. they're so mature and reflective but also really funny and thematically interesting and all so unique in their own ways but they just get ignored most of the time...

(i will say i think his 70s work is objectively better BUT that doesn't discredit the beauty that is everything that came before the man who sold the world or after let's dance okay 😔)
