Fuck it, let's talk LotR.
Faramir was the sex symbol of LotR when the movies came out.
'What am I talking about?' you may ask. ‘Aragorn is sexy one, he’s ‘insert Aragorn praise here’’. Oh you sweet, sweet children and Americans, let me explain.
Long ago, in the 90's, there was a little TV show called Sea Change. It was an Australian show, and it had the country in a choke hold. A big part of that was Daniel 'Diver Dan' Della Bosca, played by David Wenham. No, I am not joking.
David Wenham was literally the Sexiest Man Alive, as voted by the Australian public. Women wanted him, men wanted to be him, and if you ask people today, there is a non-insignificant population who will still tell you that that man is hotter than the Bitumen in summer with no shoes on. The current landscape of media means that many young folks haven't been exposed to him the way millennial's were, but trust me.
So, when David Wenham walks on screen, with that lovely long hair, the rugged, scruffy little beard, and the sad little eyes, it was the sexiest thing the Australian public had ever seen. Him swinging around a sword and getting all sweaty on screen, then having a soft and tender romance with Eowyn, was the ultimate, wish fulfilment, self insert projection fantasy.
There are people who watched LotR solely because David Wenham was in it.
Faramir, was the sex appeal.
Daisy Wenham.
That is all.

David Wenham, you will always be Friar Carl to me.
