I know I don’t have any kind of social media platform, but I wanted to distribute footage of what is actually going on during these protests to the few people that will see this. This was a PEACEFUL protest in #Boston yesterday. The news is only covering the riots, and even their reach is limited as so many journalists and reporters are being attacked and arrested. Please spread this content of what these protests looked like before white people brought in the violence. Last night the cops destroyed their own squad car so POC could take the blame. White boys did the vandalizing while POC begged them to stop. The cops closed the trains as protestors were trying to peacefully disperse and then started shooting tear gas and rubber bullets into the contained crowd.

Like so many people, I am angry. But as a white person I have the privilege to be angry without fear for my life. White people, it is important for us to speak up too. Give space for Black voices, but spread yours as we are more likely to be listened to. This is not a Black struggle, this is humanity’s struggle. We are ALL in this. To not act is to be complicit. Complicity allows this injustice to perpetuate. Complicity itself is an act of violence. White people: get uncomfortable. Put in the work. Donate, speak out, show up. And don’t stop once the hashtags stop trending.
