I went to a Dave Barnes concert the other night and the opening act was David Richt. (You may have heard of his dad? He coaches that UGA football team.) Anyway, David Richt is a World Vision artist and helps promote the organization, so there was a table set up where you could learn about World Vison and get involved by sponsoring a child. For 35 dollars a month, you can help provide things such as clean water, food and healthcare for one child in a poor part of the world. I first heard about World Vision while reading the book by Lopez Lomong because his foundation partners with it. I think it is such an awesome thing because you can know exactly where your money is going and know that it is making such a huge difference in the life of one special person. You can also write letters back and forth between the child you sponsor. It sounds so fun. I think I want to do it! :)
