Everyone waits for the day they get to walk across the stage but they don’t realize the time with most of their friends is going to be cut drastically. My school was a magnet school and it contained both middle and high school also meaning the friends I have had been there since the sixth grade. While graduation was approaching so were all the other events that went along with it including honors day where the seniors recieve their cords. Because my school was a magnet fine art school we made everything a big deal and always made the seniors feel like they would always be welcomed back.
Before honors day began the freshman, sophomores, juniors, and all of our parents waited for us to parade into the Beverly J. Barnhart Theatre but us seniors were waiting for our cue, the beginning of Ben Rector’s, “Brand New”. When it kicked in we realized we weren’t dreaming anymore and real life was coming our way.
