Day 30 - the finish line...
A month ago, I joined my Interface colleagues in embracing a 30x30 Nature Challenge with the David Suzuki Foundation... the aim was to fall back in love with nature, to reconnect human beings with nature for the sake of their health and wellbeing... through a pledge to spend thirty minutes in nature each and every day...
Today was the final furlong... a trip though The Line, up to a great place to finish, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Olympic Stadium... a venue I remember fondly from London 2012.
One of the highlights has been friends and colleagues saying that I looked healthier and happier... despite no major other lifestyle changes. But in addition to that, I think I’ve loved finding new places in a city that I often feel I know like the back of my hand...
For example, Cody Dock... a great community project transforming a derelict dock in East London into a creative quarter that will serve Star Lane and its surrounds. I didn’t take a photo, but if you’re in London, pop by the chickens and say hi from me.
I’m also really excited to see how The Line evolves and develops... especially as the South Side is not so far from where I live... love this sculpture from Abigail Fallis...
So my challenge is over... well, kinda.... I will continue on spending more time in nature as a practice... it might not be 30 minutes each and every day, but it won’t be far off and I’ll share what I find right here...
Thank you to the David Suzuki Foundation and Interface for your help with this journey (to date...).
