Why Don't You Ship It?
i think i do get the appeal of godmode, and especially find the depictions where they're like twin deities a little fun, but that really does go against a lot of my headcanons for saint to the point where i'm just not really interested in it? like i love depictions of saint where they are just a regular slugcat overtaken with the unattainable desire to 'fix everything,' only to fail and get trapped because of their grandiose desires.
and i had like- zero headcanons for inv before the ng+ fic. but based on inv having a very energetic demeanor in my head, i actually think saint would get really annoyed by her and his constant lack of seriousness, because, to me, saint absolutely takes themself wayy too serious.
What Would Have Made You Like It?
if i didn't imagine inv as being absolutely deranged, then maybe i would see it a whole lot more. don't get me wrong, saint is deranged too, but in more of an egotistical manner. but inv has gone through literal hell and been tortured in my mind and hard copes with it by the way she acts, and i think, given that, saint would immediately just try to ascend him as an act of mercy
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
honestly, if i didn't already have two ships with saint that i already really like, this one might've made it as one of them, but i just have always had a hard time getting into inv ships in general because of my lack of headcanons that i really enjoy for her up until recently. it also doesn't help that saint is one of the two slugcats that i hard project onto, so i tend to really lack interest in anything that strays too far from my ideas for them...
also, i really like the ships based on the dating sim where saint manipulates inv into getting the egg before realizing they've developed feelings for him. that one's good too!
