Amusing thought I've had: Mr. Negative doesn't choose to go by "Negs", it's a goofy nickname that Darkwing gave him. He responds to it, but it's not a name he fully embraces.

However, I'm just imagining after about a year of being called by that nickname regularly, he just gets used to it, and then calls himself "Negs" in the third person on accident one day, and then DW loses it lol.
