Mad Men: an island in your arms
Story Title: an island in your arms Fandom: Mad Men Link(s): http://archiveofourown.org/works/754229/chapters/1409007 Summary: In which two friends fall out, fall to pieces, and - much later - fall in love. A season 5 AU. Warnings: Suicide Attempt; References to Past Abuse Characters: Joan Holloway, Lane Pryce, Rebecca Pryce, Nigel Pryce, Gail Holloway, Kevin Harris, Peggy Olson, Don Draper, Roger Sterling, Ken Cosgrove, Cynthia Cosgrove, Pete Campbell, Harry Crane, Stan Rizzo, Michael Ginsberg, Dawn Chambers, Lewis Pryce (Original Male Character) Pairings: Joan Holloway/Lane Pryce, Peggy Olson/Don Draper, Michael Ginsberg/Dawn Chambers When I Started: April 9, 2013 How I Lost My Shit: In retrospect, starting a story about suicide and depression while experiencing clinical depression and working three jobs was probably not the brightest idea. And also, why the hell did I want this story to span a five year time period? That was overzealous. :) ANYWAY, after a move, getting better jobs, also getting medication, and staying on that medication, I was still able to keep writing and updating the story. How I Finished My Shit: Day after goddamn day. Finally wrote the last few pieces from April - June 2017. How I Got Story Art: Thanks to the Bang, my story art was created by the fabulous red_b_rackham, who provided me with the most GORGEOUS digital work ever ever ever. She even did art for specific scenes!! And listened to all my nerdy requests without complaint. So thanks, Red, you're awesome. I'm so glad we got paired up!
