Season Five might be considered the Season of Female Empowerment. Every single woman in the cast can handle herself in a fight, and, in the case of Michonne and Carol, their individual prowess has been singled out by the enemy. They are forces to be reckoned with. Well, with the good (or the morally ambiguous) must come the bad, and we've seen two downright evil women this season: Dawn, who pimped out wards and played God with patients to maintain her power base; and Mary, who was a murderer and cannibal. No moral ambiguity there, although both women made a case for their actions. So, from laundresses to murderesses. Progress comes in many forms.
