Heart Problems Force Bill Ward to Cancel Tour
Bill Ward has cancelled his December west-coast tour dates with Day of Errors.
The former Black Sabbath drummer cited heart problems in a Facebook post and said the dates - seven shows between Dec. 7 and 15 - will not be rescheduled. Ward made the announcement “with great, great sadness” and said he is “in good recovery” after being hospitalized.
”However, I’ve never experienced this particular type of heart problem before, and due to its nature, I had to make the decision to cancel the dates,” he wrote.
”I want to send my sincere apologies to everyone who was planning to come out to the shows. I’m so sorry we won’t be making it – I was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing this music with you.”
”No,” Metallica’s James Hetfield posted on Facebook in response to Ward’s health problems.
The 69-year-old drummer released his third solo album, Accountable Beasts, in 2015. Ward split with Black Sabbath in 2012 and was not part of the band’s farewell tour, which wrapped in February.
