Today was pretty relaxed.
Because the annual ‘11.11’ shopping extravaganza is happening soon in China, I managed to buy some new towels and a frying pan at local department stores for much cheaper than usual.
I even baked some creamy pasta with lots of cheese that I’ve been craving for days.
I went out later in the evening to Starbucks to grade my student diaries and get some fresh air so to speak.
Still, I felt weirdly depressed thinking about X. Maybe it was certain songs in my Spotify playlists that dredged up old memories of X, particularly from our last vacation together in Manila. I’ve had some crappy holidays with my family over the years, but that last holiday with X took the bloody biscuit. Did she even want to go on a trip with me? Or was I just a meal ticket for her to get away from her depressing life and problems?
Urgh, I hate indulging in morbid, petty thoughts about X. She’s not even worth my time and energy anymore.
Still, I’m feeling good about writing again. So I posted more chapters of my old story online. I don’t want to focus on reviews or people complimenting me in general about my writing. I just want to write again because it was my first love long before I fell in love with X and used up all my creativity for her.
Even with my weird emotions of late, it’s nice to have some time to myself to recover and rest.
