And the more Bruce becomes yandere for you, the funnier it becomes to them bc the things they hear about you from Bruce is just so interesting.

Okay, so you’re a cat burglar? But you’re scared of the dark ao you only steal during the day? Okay, okay, but you’re also terrified of Batman and his Robins, minus Duke? That has to hurt man, the kid Bruce wants to adopt is terrified of Batman.

So, Bruce is having a hard time figuring out who you are, he’s recruited Tim and Selina to help him out, but you are still extremely elusive. Bruce is becoming so desperate to figure out who you are that he’s bringing Clark into this.

Ironically, daylight thief reader is a massive fan of Superman.

What does Catwoman think of daylight thief?

Catwoman thinks Daylight Thief Reader is the cutest little kitten to join the criminal underside of Gotham. She wants to become your mentor, but its so hard to catch you for a chat, especially since Selina is a nighttime criminal that never likes to go out during the daytime, plus she has no idea who her little kitten is! You are such an elusive little sweetheart, but that's okay, she will just have to get Bruce to help her catch you.

She admires how good you are at stealing, feeling a swell of pride in her chest every morning she wakes up and reads/watches the news report about what you've stolen.

However, she is getting concerned. She has heard about how her little kitten has started getting hired for more dangerous jobs overseas and she is worried about what groups you might be working with, what if they snatch up her little kitten and hurt you?

Sigh... She and Bruce are going to have to start going out during the day now, she can't have her little kitten getting hurt.

Especially since she knows you don't have claws.

The bat family is tracking down a large theft and smuggling ring. They have managed to deduce that the thieves are aiming to steal [insert item] at [location] that weekend. The bats have coordinated with law enforcement to apprehend the ring.

Daylight thief steals it Friday afternoon.

I like to imagine Daylight Thief Reader does this to groups that they personally don't like.

Maybe you worked with them in the past and didn't like how they handled the artifacts, maybe they said something that pissed you off, hell, maybe they just chew loudly; whatever it is, they made you mad and you want to ruin their day.

Nothing ruins a thief's day more than another thief stealing their score.

The Bats hate it too! They had everything planned, hell, Bruce even went undercover to get more information! When the news reported that the artifact was stolen, I like to imagine that there was tables flipped.

I also like to imagine that it was a painting that was stolen and there is a video where daylight thief reader was dressed as a statue (that no one knew they stole before hand just to accomplish this heist) jumping down from their podium and casually taking the painting off the wall and using a security key card they also stole to get out of the museum without setting off the alarms.

Duke was so impressed that his sneaky thief was able to do all of that; while simultaneously worrying about you gaining enemies in the thief world. ;-; What if they hurt you? he wouldn't let that happen

One of the reasons the bats have such a hard time tracking Daylight is because they expect thieves to escape down alleyways or into the sewer.

Just imagining Duke running around the sewers for an afternoon because WERE ELSE WOULD THEY GO, DOWN THE STREET!?!

Duke, in a gross and dark sewer looking for you while glowing: "Where the fuck are they?! Where the fu-?!" *screams because killer croc comes out of the water*

You, just down the street at the bodega, eating a snack while still in costume: ◝ ⩊ ◜.ᐟ

Imagine Duke crawling out of the sewers, exhausted, beaten up, hungry and smelling bad. He puts the sewer grate back and turns around to see where he is, only to see you (civilian you) stopping on the sidewalk you were on and just stare at him.

You, scratches the back of your head: "Oh, Signal! You look like shit." *helps him up and takes him to the nearest bodega and cleans him up and buys him some food*

Signal, feeling better: "I'd die for you."

You: "What."

Signal: "What."

Biblically accurate Daylight Thief and Batman interaction.

They are running so fast away from him and you can’t even blame them.

But it hurts Bruce’s feelings when you scream “please don’t take my kneecaps” or “I don’t have dental! Don’t rip my teeth out” or, and this hurts his feelings the most, it makes him turn into a depressed batblob “Please don’t hurt me”.

You’re just a kid, of course he’s not going to hurt you, plus your Duke’s crush and the family’s future in-law, he wants to make a good impression with you, but you’re obviously so frightened by just the sight of him.

Maybe he should try approaching you as Bruce Wayne? That way you won’t be as scared and he won’t have his feelings hurt (hopefully).

You mentioned how some countries hire daylight thief reader to get their stuff back and i cant help but imagine the great British museum has beef with them

Also because of this do any countries offer them like citizenship if things go wonky in the usa like if they got caught and managed to get to their countries they'd be welcomed ?

Also do they have a fan base due to their wacky and eccentric way of doing things?

Ironically, when Daylight Thief Reader was starting out being hired internationally, the British Museum tried to hire them. They wanted some art from France that the french government were not willing to lend out to the British museum. Daylight, obviously, rejected the request.

They do have citizenship in Greece, Egypt and Nigeria because of how much work they have done getting their stuff back and yes, Daylight thief reader has a global fanclub.

People in Gotham sell calendars of you in your holiday costumes and with items you have stolen and taken pictures with. There's funny stickers, flags, a few fanfics and, in Gotham, you can get an "I saw the daylight thief and all i got was this tshirt" or a "i was robbed by the daylight thief" tshirt.

Joker hates your merch. He actively tries burning the places where people sell your merchandise. He thinks this is so unfair! He's been a staple of this goddamn city for 20 years and all he gets is his name on french fries while you get your own custom sticker pack after being a thief for only a year and a half?!?! THAT'S BULLSHIT!!!

Every time he hears that you are out of the city, he hopes you die or get a parasite.

Imagine if someone is interviewing Duke while he’s in his Signal uniform, being asked if the new bank in Gotham has been robbed yet.

He is proudly telling them that it hasn’t and won’t be robbed under his watch, meanwhile Daylight Thief Reader is in the background, “sneaking” away with that massive bag over their shoulder, just cheesing bc this is going to be apart of one of those “top 10 funniest things that’s happened in Gotham” compilations.

When Duke sees the footage he’s absolutely FURIOUS bc COME ON LET HIM HAVE THIS ONE THING!!!

Duke and Tim get closer to each other during this time, because they are teaming up to figure out who you are.

Tim is disappointed that you only rob places during the day, he’s tried to entice you to come out at night by displaying some family antiques in a museum, but you didn’t bite. (It was dark and scary 🥲🥲)

Omg imagine Theif reader teasing signal (Duke) on top of a building and then running off when he tries to catch her but one time he was so close to catching her but she said

“OMG A ROBIN!” She meant an actual Robin but Duke thought she was talking about THE robins, and he looks away to the direction only for her to slink away shocked her distraction worked! But also relieved

Duke's first thought after hearing "a Robin" is "a robin? the only one who's currently a robin is Damian", then he is think about how Damian has school today, and then his third thought is "is he skipping school again?" so, Duke immediately turns his head, saying "are you skipping class again????"

This gives you a mini heart attack because how does he know you're in school? (You two are literally the same age) causing you to shout "NO" while running away.

Imagine this exchange being recorded? Tim and Barbara watching this exchange go down and just laughing so hard at the two of you. You two are so obvious, it's cute, it's so cute.

It makes them kinda happy, sure their new (future) in law is a hard person to figure out, and sure its super annoying how you ruin their sting operations by stealing the bait, but you genuinely care about Duke and they can see that.

They have seen footage of you sneak up behind him and carefully place pieces of candy that Duke loves in his utility belt when he is not paying attention. How you make sure to never strike him, or try to fight him.

How when he uses his meta ability, you look at him like he's an angel that is descending upon the earth in blinding glory.

They hope you two get together, they hope that you know he likes you. They hope you know how sad he gets when you aren't in Gotham, how he collects merchandise of you to feel like he's closer to you, how he feels when he gets ready for the daylight patrol, knowing that you will be there to keep him company.
