eddie was busy with errands when he saw the familiar face. still , he couldn't help but pause. this town was strange and only getting stranger ; but he decided to push his luck by approaching. ❝ may ? ❞ his tone already sounded defeated. he wasn't about to get his hopes up , after all ...

the adjustment hadn't been easy for maddie ; if not for her daughter , she likely would've fallen into a deep slump by now. instead , she had to keep her strength up. still , she always faltered when her daughter asked where her father was. the mother had to keep her daughter busy and distracted for both their sakes. thus , when the weather had warmed , she opted to spend her day - off at the park. it was going well , until the toddler caught sight of something that she so clearly wanted. ❝ jee - yun ! ❞ she yelled as she chased her daughter. she swept her up quickly , causing them both to giggle. it wasn't until she looked up to see what , or who , her daughter was running towards. ❝ chimney ... ❞

steve didn't even have a clue on what she put in front of him , what he was trying to read. he never hesitated when nancy asked for his help , but boy was he useless ... ❝ i don't know what i'm looking for. ❞ if he was even looking for anything. truth be told , he was too busy staring at how pretty she looked today to hear whatever she said. ❝ am i supposed to know what this is about ??? ❞

❝ huh ... they're out of the good tomato paste , ❞ bobby mumbled to himself as he scanned the grocery store shelves. he began to walk down the aisle , nearly colliding with a younger woman. ❝ oh ! i'm so sorry ! ❞ he was quick to apologize as he turned to face her. he blinked , staring at her for a moment. a sensation similar to when he was reminded of his late daughter crept in , but ... that didn't make sense. he pushed it away , refusing to linger. ❝ i wasn't looking where i was going. ❞

it was after family dinner , and they were blessed enough to get through the meal without the alarm going off. bobby coaxed the paramedic to help him clean up , especially since he was useless during the prep. plus , he thought chimney may have seemed a little distracted earlier. ❝ something on your mind , chim ? ❞ he asked as he placed a set of dishes in the sink. the rest of the team was out of earshot and likely didn't want to get roped into clean up duty. ❝ everything alright ?? ❞

he still didn't quite understand what was going on here. or the fact that he hadn't seen anyone that he actually knows. it was weird, it wasn't like home, or the fact that he was kind of just a regular person. he was living some kind of regular life that he wasn't fully used to, but at least he's got lady with him. and here he was, in the animal hospital for a regular check-up for lady. someone walks in, his eyes looking up, and he almost softens; a familiar face after so long. "bloom?"

annie happened to run into kelsi on the street. a bit flustered around the girl , she thought maybe it was best to keep the interaction short , save herself the embarrassment of misspeaking. however , when she tried to make her exit , she felt a sudden pull on her arm. when she looked back , she found kelsi closer than before. when annie looked down , only then did she see where they physically connected. a soft ❛ oh ❜ escaped her lips as a pink hue spread across her cheeks. ❝ i'm sorry. i wasn't trying to run away like that , ❞ she said though a laugh. ❝ i just assumed you had someplace to be. i didn't want to keep you ... ❞
