Here are the first public infos about our mobile game “Day Rim“ out of our GDD. This game is a point and click adventure for mobile devices with a darker scribbleish style. We call it..
“a touching point and click adventure for android devices, that offers challenges on a hardware-level besides the classic story-bound puzzles to the player.“
The sensors and the properties of a mobile device open up new possibilities to create puzzles in dependence of the hardware. For example, you can show/hide things depending on the screen orientation. On landscape-view, you can see further to left and right. in portrait-view, you can see further up the scene(the caravan on the top of the pile is only visible in portrait-view).
I also created puzzle-mechanics depending on battery life and sound volume. I don’t want to reveal too much, so for now these are all the information about the device mechanics. The goal is to understand the device with its properties as a gateway to the game world.
