The Break Up Blog - Day Seventy Four
Urgh, I am exhausted today.
I collapsed onto my bed last night and fell asleep at 20:00. Then I woke up at 01:00 with my tonsils feeling sensitive and sore. So I got out of bed, made myself some citrus tea and buttered bread and read Webtoons in the living room while snacking away.
I did that till 03:00 and spent the next 3 hours having trippy dreams/nightmares till my alarm went off at 06:00. X featured in parts of those dreams, mainly when she suddenly appeared in my bed and scared the crap out of me.
It honestly felt like I was having a panic attack in that dream.
I guess X isn’t done haunting my psyche yet.
Work went ok today, it was just freakishly busy. But I managed to get most of my students to practice their speaking for the Speech Contest. I’m officially done with the students who didn’t finish their school work on time. I selected the finalists from my class and they’ll compete against the other students next week.
Halloween at school is turning out to be a ridiculous affair. C told CI and I that we now have to decorate parts of the school just so that all the elementary students can take pictures in their costumes with a Halloween back-drop. The concept itself is pretty cool, but thought up at the last fucking minute as per usual.
I’m starting to think that some of my Korean colleagues thrive on doing shit at the last fucking minute.
Not me. I need at least 6 months of mental preparation before I do anything (true story).
To sum up: we have the Speech Contest, Halloween, open classes the parents will watch, a random museum visit, two more assessments, the School Bazaar that everyone has to attend and the Language Festival and final report cards.
All squeezed into the last two months of the school year because...reasons.
Give me strength...
I left work at 17:30 after finishing my grading and ordered shrimp dumplings for dinner. I tried to watch more ‘Avengers: Endgame’, but my body and brain are too tired. I finally had to say no to LY’s plan to go fruit picking this weekend. I can’t see myself walking around for hours picking oranges of all things.
I don’t like oranges nearly enough to pick them off a tree.
So it’ll probably be a quiet weekend, unless I go find myself some trouble.
I need more sugar in my system. Time for a candy binge before I hit the hay.
I hope the candy binge doesn’t induce more weird dreams about X...
