Aren't Vigo and Alchemist the same people?
Just now, I actually had a whole essay written about the unlikeliness of those two characters being the same person until I stumbeled over definitive proof while doing my fact check (because I always check my facts thoroughly before posting a claim about lore). So now this will be “shorter” since I don’t have to theorize but explain.
Some probably got the idea of Vigo and the Alchemist being the same person from the DBD wiki which FALSELY connects those two characters WHILE mentioning on the same page that they COULD be POSSIBLY connected based on the claim that they share similarities or quote “considerable overlaps in their respective Lore“. Which is wrong. (The wiki has many errors when it comes to lore because they often mention headcanons as facts.)
Reading the lore that could be obtained through the “Hallowed Blight Event” from 2018 (not to be confused with the “Withering Blight Event” which happened 2019 and also introduced the Archives for the first time with Tome I) you can acquire information in form of journal entries about the Alchemist’s journey throughout the realm, his experiments with the Pustula Flowers, the Putrid Serum he created and his eventual downfall, which is then further described in Tome I one year later. In said entries from the “Hallowed Blight Event” it is mentioned that THE ALCHEMIST FOUND VIGO’S JOURNAL and experimented according to Vigo’s entries about the Pustulas.
In other words the Alchemist and Vigo can NOT possibly be the same person.
