Ooo! How about oujia board and reader vs. Connor! Spooky headcanons maybe? uwu thank you!!
Ooh heck! I’m bumping this request up since Halloween will soon be upon us! I can’t promise I will do this for every Halloween Request I get. But I’ll always try my best! I hope I’ve done this correctly, and I hope you like it ^.^ For the sake of the HC I moved the day that Halloween lands on this year (Wednesday) to Friday. Deal with yo.
You came over to Hank’s house (knowing Connor would be there) with, uh, something fun to play with.
It’s Friday on Halloween so what better than to bust out the old Ouija Board you kept tucked away.
“Come and play with me. Come and play with me, Connor.” You sung out as you knocked on Hanks door, referencing the famous quote from the horror movie ‘The Shining’.
The quote went over the Android’s head as he opened the door and was pleasantly surprised to see you standing there with a grin on your face.
Connor knew that grin; it meant mischief. His eyes narrowed in suspicion, “Y/N, what do I owe the … spooktacular… pleasure?”
You squealed in delight that Connor had picked up on some of the Halloween puns/references you’ve been dropping throughout the week. Also teaching him to be more flexible with his vocabulary (Try not to talk like such an android in social settings).
You held the box up so the front of the box faced Connor and hid most of your face except for your eyes upwards. “It is Halloween night, the night of the living dead!” you explained in the creepiest voice you can muster.
Connor’s eyes scanned the box and from what he can conclude from his quick research, was that this is nothing but a ‘game’ that was designed to spook humans.
“I thought tonight would be the perfect night to perform a séance! Try and contact a spirit from the other side.”
Connor frowned in mild concern, his LED threatening to flick to yellow but you were so invested in performing this ridiculous act that Connor thought it best just to indulge you in this ‘game’.
He stepped aside and let you in.
You immediately went over and gave Sumo a pat. Hank’s dog was the best, you adored him! After greeting Sumo, you sat down on the floor and began setting up the board.
Connor came over and sat down, cross-legged on the floor, wearing pyjama bottoms and a DCPD Hoodie, his brown eyes beginning to scan the ‘board game’.
Connor doesn’t believe in what you thought the Ouija Board was designed for; he doesn’t believe in life after death or anything that isn’t proven by medicine and science.
“If I may interject at the risk of disappointing you, but you are aware that this is only a board game trademarked by Hasbro, Inc – originally, the Parker Brothers? Its intention was only for entertainment. Not for anything paranormal.”
“Then why are there reports and video footage of people contacting the dead through a Ouija board?”
“People can easily fake these things through acting and video manipulation.”
“Connor! Just open your mind and trust me.”
You were heavily invested in this and no amount of logical arguing from Connor was going to change your mind.
You explained to Connor what to do, and he followed through precisely.
You asked the first question, and just as Connor expected, nothing happened.
However, your eyes were closed and you were deep in concentration.
Connor’s own eyes fluttered closed and as soon as that happened, the planchette begun to move!
“Are you moving it?”, “No! I thought you were?”
Connor noticed your adrenaline spiked as well as your heart and pulse rate. You were already spooked within the first question!
More questions were asked and each time the pointer would either answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Whenever you asking anything that required a more structured answer, the pointer stayed put; so you stuck with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answers.
It began to make sense; the spirit you were communicating with was a friendly spirit, a 6-year-old kid – perhaps children spirit energy were weaker than an adults?
Your heart skipped a beat and Connor’s eyes flung open at this sudden turn of vital signs. Your eyes remained closed as your heart hammered away as you asked the next question.
“Is your name Cole?”
Connor’s eyes flung open, his LED turning yellow.
Planchette moved to the word ‘NO’. Oh, thank goodness! Your heart was still pounding but the sigh of relief was evident. Connor’s LED flickered to red for a split second before swirling back to the calming blue.
Just before you asked your next question, the lights began to flicker.
Your eyes snapped open in fear, “Did you see that?” “See what?” “The lights! They flickered!” “The wiring system is old, Y/N.” “No. I asked what the spirits’ name is and then the lights flickered. That’s not a coincidence! Maybe it doesn’t want us to know its name?” “Why don’t you ask?”
You asked the question. The Planchette stayed still. The lights flickered more evidently this time, even Connor couldn’t deny not seeing it.
The TV turned on, making you gasp and spin around to glance at it before it switched itself off. The lights flickered some more.
“Y/N, do you think we’ve invited a demon through?”
And with that question asked by Connor, the whole house plunged into darkness, making you scream and blindly reached for Connor (thank god for his LED!)
The front door banged open and you screamed bloody murder.
What have you done?! It was meant to be a harmless Séance!
The lights flicked back on and there stood Hank, gun drawn from hearing all the screaming inside his him after finally coming home from his shift.
“You gotta be fucking kidding me!?”
None of it was real. It was Connor who was moving the planchette, it was Connor who caused the lights to flicker and the television to turn on and off through the newly installed electrical system Hank had upgraded to.
Yes, Connor had planned to be a little shit from the start because Ouija Boards was, in his personal opinion, a little bit ridiculous for the norm.
Unfortunately, it meant Hank arriving to his house, expecting to see a murder rather than you sitting in Connor’s lap, clinging to him for dear life with a Ouija Board on the floor.
I realise now, I should have just made it into a quick little one-shot. I’m so sorry. I’m not good at HC’s!
Do you have rules for headcannons??
Hi boo,
Hm, not really.
The only time I won’t do any HCs is if I’m personally not comfortable with it, or it’s regarding something I don’t understand.
If there are any HCs that are triggers to people (sometimes people seek out comfort HCs for whatever reason *cough* me *cough*) I will always place a trigger warning at the top.
I need to do some RK900 x Reader. There isn’t much out there. I don’t have any ideas. I’m not the greatest at writing him but let me try. I’m a sucker for bringing out a softness in tough boys. SEND ME SOME REQUESTS! Or more Gavin/Hank x reader if you’d like. I’m a sucker for Hurt/comfort mush but I know that can get boring for you all after a while. But whatever goes. Just not smut because I’m real crappy at writing it (LOVE reading it though!) I’ve still got a couple of Hank requests sitting there.I promise I WILL be getting to them. My poor Nonnies have been so patient.
Wait, so is it Gavin Reeds Birthday? ‘Cause I’m working on a lil lame ficlet that involves his cat dying... so, uh... Happy Birthday Gav??? Does this make me the worst person in the world? I feel like it does. Considering my love for Gavin has skyrocketed the last few weeks. Yeah...I’mma just yeet myself outta here before Gavin kills me himself. kthxbai
