Underrated aspect of Galaxy and Dreamer is they make sense. I know where they come from and what they are now and there's a direct correlation between the two. Sounds like faint praise, but I mean!!! What other DC characters can you say that about right now?
"Where did Jon Kent come from?" He's always been there, stop asking questions. "What's Damian's backstory?" Depends on who you ask and how racially sensitive they're feeling that day. "Why are there two Questions and two Blue Beetles?" CUZ NOTHING MEANS ANYTHING ANYMORE.
MEANWHILE!!! Galaxy and Dreamer talk about when they're kids and the week after, there's a graphic novel about when they were kids giving key context to their pasts and relationship. In addition to being fun characters, they're maybe the only DC characters you can follow right now with an absolutely clear backstory that influences their decisions. I call that an evolutionary advantage.
Anyway, read Jadzia Axelrod and Nicole Maine's stuff! They're so accessible and yet also some of the last DC writers that know how to make real character drama.
I still think Dreamer should have moved over to Legends of Tomorrow after Supergirl ended. Idk how they would have made it work, I don't think she ever met the Legends but I wanted to see more of her and Legends was kind of the catch all for Arrowverse side characters. I think she would have had fun jumping around through time
