Thankful Thursday: 10/4/12

Today, three things I'm particularly thankful for are...

1.  Cafes with good lighting, comfortable seating, great coffee, nice music, big windows, and a steady crowd of people.  Today's: Ebenezers on F & 2nd, DC.

2.  Friends that are smart, passionate, and hilarious.  They challenge me to think, to be a better person every day, and most importantly...to laugh and enjoy life, something that I don't always do a great job at without support from others.

3.  To be able to spend a few days in Washington DC.  Our country isn't perfect, far from it.  As individuals and as a collective, we can and must do many things better.  But every time I come to DC, my sense of hope is restored when I see so many people working to make our country better.  Many people have many different ideas about what that means and how to make it happen, but I really believe that the vast majority of people here believe in what they're doing, and that's what makes our country pretty great.
