I haven’t been able to sign on to my tumblr for months but I finally gained access again woo!
Among a million other things I did this summer (coordinate a kids art camp, work for a girls rock camp, start work at a women’s shelter, organize and facilitate a pride parade, throw fundraisers, sit on various committees, also working at a bookshop), this summer I co-produced the Dawson City League of Lady Wrestlers’ fourth annual event, the North-End Knockout!
Co-producing this event with my pals Andy Pelletier and Yasmine Renaud was such a huge learning experience?? On top of that I performed, and the above is some photos of my wrestling character ‘babydoll’ with her controlling husband manager ‘Tigers Wood’ (played by Jaimie Hale).
Babydoll is a stepford-wives character who is controlled by her big business corporate misogynist husband. For my match I fought an ignorant holland america tourist (Bob Loblaw played by Kiki Barua) which then turned into a fight with my husband-manager, where I snapped and killed him in the ring by biting his jugular! It was a very satisfying match to perform.
