he looks up to see his cousin standing over him, making him narrow his eyes at her. “this is whatever,” he says, sniffling. “i don’t think you’re here to console me ‘cause, like, you probably think i’m just lying.” he wipes his tears away with the back of his hand, sighing. “you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to, you know. if anything, i think it’ll be easier if you pretend you didn’t see anything.” why does it hurt him to say that?
