OK so when i worked in disney last year, i worked at an attraction called mission: SPACE. apparently, that’s chris’s favorite ride in WDW.
so i’m coming back from break and there’s a girl puking in the closet and her friend is running down the hall to go get her new clothes and i’m already like well SHIT this is one of my least favorite positions and it smells like vomit and i want to die etc. so my coordinator (manager?-ish person) is standing there, and when i hand the slip to the cast member so she can go on break, she’s like. visibly disappointed. which is WHACK ‘cause we all love our breaks. ANYWAY—
my coordinator leans real close to me and is like, “chris evans is on the ride.” and i was like !!!! he’s WHAT??????
so fast foward to chris getting off the ride. the doors open and it’s him and his brother. so i do my normal exist spiel and go, “hope you enjoyed the ride, guys! enjoy the rest of your day!” while trying not to die yanno
chris and his brother both SMILE at me and they go, “thanks, you too!” and then proceeded to exit out a cast-only door
anyway chris is beautiful in person and i love him so much and he’s the only celebrity i’ve met working at disney besides the mom from good luck charlie so

YES anon i can tell u a l l the things (under the cut bc i already know this is gonna be a long one)
so there’s a very long application process. basic application, web-based interview, phone interview, all that jazz. let me break these down for you:
basic application—the basics! name, age, college, hometown, degree, etc. job experiences & skills earned/maximized during each job (NOTE: you do not need to have job experience to get in. 2 of my 7 roommates have no prior job experience). you will be given a list of roles offered to CPs and you will be asked to rank them as high/moderate/low interest. these are the ones i can remember:

i’m sure there are many more but ya girl cannot remember for the life of her anYway
if your application gets approved, you’ll move on to the web-based interview, or WBI! PLEASE note that everyone’s application process is different. you can get a WBI immediately, like i did, or it can take a month or so, like a few people i know. don’t let it stress you! being stuck in applied is very common and doesn’t mean you won’t get accepted :’)
WBI: the web-based interview is almost like a test. it is pass or fail. you’re asked a series of questions and you have to select one of the answers (strongly disagree/disagree/neutral/agree/strongly agree, stuff like that). it’s all questions that you should answer honestly about your work ethic and what you would do in situations and stuff. no stress. just don’t try to answer how you think disney would like.
if you pass the WBI, you’ll get an email asking you to schedule your phone interview!! this is an interview over the phone (obviously) with a recruiter! they’ll ask you about pretty much anything. some questions i was asked were:
which role do you feel most qualified for?if you were so-and-so’s character attendant and character had to leave for a break, what reason would you give the kids for this character leaving? (wow, wordy, but hope it makes sense)what are your top roles? what are you looking to get out of the disney college program?what do you plan to do with your degree?
there are a BUNCH more. you can just google ‘standard dcp phone interview questions’ and some good stuff should pop up!!
sO, if you complete the phone interview, all you have left to do is wait. and wait. and wait. until waves of acceptances come out. and you might be within one of those!! when you get that magical congratulations email, it will tell you your role. you can accept & pay the fees (rent for first couple weeks and a little bit of money for housing events), or decline. declining does NOT alter your chances of getting in if you choose to reapply next season or any season in the future.
if you don’t get an acceptance, you will get a no longer in consideration (NLIC) email. NLICs can come at any time. you could find out that you are NLIC on the last day of acceptances after you’ve done the phone interview. or you could find out while you’re still in applied. they really suck, but even if you get an NLIC, they do not affect your chances at reapplying for future seasons!
now, obviously, i was accepted. i am QSFB, which is quick-service food and beverage. my location is blizzard beach (specifically lottawatta lodge), but i will most likely be cross-trained somewhere else since typhoon lagoon is closed and blizzard beach can be closed frequently because of florida’s wild weather (but i have yet to find out if i will be cross-trained)!
i moved in today, actually. it was a busy day and i didn’t even have casting! i’m super excited to go through this journey and i literally could not be happier.
if any of you are thinking about applying, DO IT. it looks wonderful on job applications. it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. it’s DISNEY.

How is the roommate process like for the DCP? I’ve seen a few videos where people have chosen there roommates in a way but is it always like that? (Im a closeted lesbian who has a tendency of telling people im gay outside of my family that I’m comfortable with ya know who wants to apply for it in closet but I’m scared of like homophobia or anything ya know)

okay so. on facebook, there are pages you can join based off your arrival date. i’m in one for my arrival date, and it’s basically a narrowed-down way to find roommates!! there’s a roommate survey template that you can fill out, and post it with photos of you so people kind of get to know you a little!!
there is a question like “sexual orientation?” which i think is STUPID, and tbh i deleted it in my survey bc tbh it’s NOBODY’S BUSINESS. however, there are PLENTY of people who are gay/bi/pan/etc. who are out and proud and are looking for other LGBTQ roommates!
ANYWAY:
after you kind of make friends and tentative roommates, you’ll get an email from disney housing 3 weeks prior to your arrival date. depending on availability, you get the option to link with these people to live with them! 9 times out of 10 you get the people you choose, so if you link with them, you room with them. you won’t actually know if you’ve been placed with them in the same apartment until move-in day, but i wouldn’t stress about it!
if you don’t find anyone you want to room with, that’s okay!! they’ll place you in a random apartment with other people who MAYBE have linked or who are also random! both programs i was given random roommates as well as linked roommates and i was as close with the ppl i linked with as i was with the random girls!!!
bottom line too: the DCP is a VERY accepting program! really!! don’t stress about it. disney as a company is very friendly and accommodating (in my experience).
