Random head canon:

This girl cannot handle spicy food. She maintains that it’s because, growing up in the Novak household, she never really had the chance to acclimate to spicy foods, but whatever the reason is, she’s just awful with it. But even so, there are times where she’ll insist on getting ridiculously spicy food, just to one up Alex. It always seems like a good idea at the time, but she generally ends up regretting it.

Angry/violent head canon:

Ho boy. This girl has a thing about anger. She never used to be an angry kid, but then after the whole Castiel mess, and her father disappearing for good, it’s like a damn broke inside her. She started getting into fights at school not too long after. The violence was the only way she knew how to process the emotions she had inside of her. When Amelia went MIA, things only got worse. After that, not only did she get into fights, she started getting good at fighting. There are times she wondered what her dad would think about who she was becoming, but generally those thoughts ended up in a less than helpful place. Something like “it doesn’t matter what he’d think, because I’ll never see him again.” Or even “it doesn’t matter because Castiel took him from me.” There were a lot of times where, when she was in a fight, she’d imagine that the person she was fighting was Castiel. Times here she’d just imagine that she had the chance to confront him, try to hurt him (she realized how difficult/impossible that would be seeing as he was an angel, but a girl can dream) but sometimes...because he didn’t really have a face, that she’d end up picturing hurting Jimmy, which would then just make things worse. She still has a lot of violent urges, but she has better control of them, has better outlets for them, and has a better support system to help her deal with things.

Quirks/Hobbies headcanon for Duke Crocker:

I’m going to start with hobbies. We already know that he plays (or at least wants people to think he does) the ukelele, and plays poker from time to time (something I believe he only really does casually when there’s beer involved, and has probably played strip poker many times in his life). But in general I think he really just likes exploring new hobbies. Whether it’s learning a new language (okay, the fact that he knows Japanese would come in handy for the whole smuggling thing, but tbh he would also want to learn languages just so he can surprise people by whipping out some Arabic or Mandarin), learning a new instrument (Eric has been in two different bands so I choose to believe that Duke, little beknownst to the citizens of Haven, is also musically inclined), or learning a new recipe. And I wouldn’t call it a hobby, seeing as he owns a bar, but he definitely enjoys mixing drinks, and predicting the drinks people will order, etc. And honing any skill that will theoretically impress Audrey, or even just bring a smile to his face is something he’ll do.

Also, not sure if it counts as a quirk, but my boy celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah. With Christmas, it’s less about the religious aspect and more the American cultural practice with the presents and the lights and the myriad of symbols taken from pagan practices. With Hanukkah, it’s more about connecting with his mother and her family’s heritage that he never really got to experience much when he was younger. (He stumbles through some of the traditions for the various holidays, but he’s working on it.)

Random Headcanon for Tulip O’Hare:

At a very young age, she was super into everything stereotypically girly. If it was pink or glittery or had princesses in/on it, it was her jam. Then she got older and started rejecting all the things that society thought she needed to like in order to be feminine enough. She hated being thought of as girly, and would go so far as to say girly shit was stupid, and so were girls who bought into that shit. Then she became an adult and settled somewhere in the middle. She learned that she could reject society’s expectations, while still embracing feminine things, or at least not pushing them aside strictly because they’re considered for girls. She decided she was going to defend a woman’s right to be as feminine as she damn well pleased, or as masculine, or anywhere on that scale. That societally imposed gender roles are some fucked up shit that either force girls into little molds, or push them into rejecting anything perceived as feminine, because to be feminine is to be weak. She learned that she could be whatever and whomever she wanted to be, regardless of anyone’s expectations of her, and that every woman should be shown that their life is their own.

Before Anna fell, she found herself quite taken with some of the garb that humans chose to adorn themselves with. It was one of the many things about humanity that fascinated her. As Anna Milton, daughter of a deacon, she wore a lot of clothes made from organic materials, and tended to value comfort and functionality more than anything.
