Do you know what the Sun kissing behavior is?
I have two suns who are housed together. One is an older model, I think these guys ran for like a year but got discontinued but I don’t remember the exact model. But the other one is a newer model, the people I got them from said it was one where the rays were manufactured to be bendy and plastic instead of the usual metal, and there’s lights in them so they glow?
They get along quite well, but there is a behavior I noticed that really confused me, which is the older model kissing or bonking its head against the younger model’s head? It’s specifically the older model that does this. I’ve asked other sun owners and they don’t seem to know what I’m talking about
Is this a dominance thing? An aggressive thing? Should I be concerned? Im a new sun owner so sorry if this is a weird question!
This reminds me of the Moon chinning behavior somebody asked about a while back! Most Moon models have scent glands and poor eyesight, but the only Sun I can think of that would need something like that were the nightlight models (2002), which were Sun models specifically made to live in the dark. Your Sun might be prone to singing or mimicking rhythmic sounds, and have pale yellow eyes that glow in the dark. It might be attracted to the glowing rays of your other model, since it tends to like soft lights. As long as the other model isn’t fighting against the marking, it should be fine. Just a cute behavior from a Sun that likes their mate.
