Dead Skunk - Loudon Wainwright III 1972
So it looks like it wasn't a button b.uck after all. I'm not sure what the skull looks like when the. Antlers are she'd, so I'm not sure if this one just had it's antlers shed or if they got cut off 😓. I also took some other bones, and I'm hoping I can make some jewelry or some art peices with them! I also found a dead S.kunk! Today I'm going to go back there and take a better look at it.
So I’ve seen an excess of dead s.kunks lately then low and behold I found one right in front of my house.
I’ve put it under a bucket but I know much wont happen till it gets warmer. I need to go gender it also.
It reminded me of a carrion beetle.
S.kunks are one of my favorite north american animals and my favorite skull.
❗DEATH WARNING❗ *these images are not for shock value* This is a sk.unk skull I have macerated! This is my first Maceration and I think it's going well. The skin all came off in one peice but got stuck at the very end of the jaw bone. And I didn't have my knife to cut it. Since I've been in he VC community, I've learned that skulls are smaller than you think 😂 And that sk.unks are greasy boiis. I also found a vertebra in the Maceration and it is now degreasing

Good morning and happy Tuesday.
Yesterday morning on the way into work, that's 5:30am. There was a car behind me for miles. All I could see were headlights but I could tell he wasn't happy to be behind me. I don't speed around here, too many animals and it's pitch black, no street lights or anything like that. So I'm happily doing the speed limit listening to a true crime pod cast and I could feel this car behind me. I make a right at a stop sign and this car is still right behind me. Now I slow down, about 10 or 15 mph because there is a dear crossing. Now here's where the story gets interesting. The "car" was actually a police suv. He turned his lights on, hit the gas and passed me... let's just say he didn't pass the dear. That poor deer didn't have a chance. I just kept driving. The moral of the story, there is no need to rush at 5:30am.
