At a table in the library --- with her backpack at her feet, a notebook, along with her math textbook out in front of her, Dawn sat with her focus down. It’d been awhile since she’d just come to the Murder House to study… and at about twenty minutes in, she realized why. She couldn’t concentrate. Maybe it was just being in the house, but her mind was r a c i n g. At the moment, math homework just seemed incredibly inconsequential.
A sudden glance up; agitated with her inability to understand Algebra. She needed a break from thinking; however short. The brunette allowed her sights, as well as her brain, to w a n d e r --- and briefly, her features softened when a certain boy came to mind. “ ...Keith? ” She called out suddenly. It was a first. A thought that there may be another spirit by the name of Keith in the house had her tensing suddenly, “ Keith Renner? ” Just to be sure. Dark brown hues wandered across the area; she wasn’t exactly sure of what to expect.
It didn’t take her too long to discover the house was haunted by ghosts--… Correction, it didn’t take her too long to discover the house was haunted by ghosts who looked very similar to real, breathing people. Between her aroused curiosity on the building leading her to the library for information, and not only hearing about her friend, Autumn’s death on the news, but speaking with her, face-to-face, in the house not too long after, she connected the dots on her own decently quick.
The one thing she was still having trouble with on the matter was how the spirits appeared so corporeal, so r e a l. To the naked eye, anyone she’d encountered could be a ghost. She’d been brought up on the idea that, sure, they existed --- but in the form of a b r e e z e in a room with no windows. She could accept that. But this… there was no logic. Their bodies were gone, how could they still exist in such a way? It bothered her a bit, but at the same time, intrigued her. She wished to understand.
The house was already f a s c i n a t i n g on its own, exciting. Its vibe emanated activity; it’s what drew her in in the first place. The fact that it was haunted as well only added to its appeal.
After about a minute without seeing anyone in immediate sight, Dawn exhaled a quiet sigh. It was worth a shot. Maybe calling upon ghosts required more. Having not seen him since Halloween, she could only w o n d e r what he’d been up to... and she’d be lying if she said he hadn’t crossed her mind since. Shoulders dropped and she looked back down to her textbook --- irritation immediately finding her features again as she began reading over the section for the meaning of variables.
