“Let me see them.” leaning in a bit he carefully looks them over before a small smirk brings his lips up and he turns to walk away, “Follow me I know just the thing. Do you know the ones responsible for messing with their home? If not they are more of a concern at the moment.”
He walks until he squats down in front of a knapsack and pulls out a device, “Put them in here and regularly check on them. They should be alright in the end and they’ll have you to thank for it.” he gently rubs her head to try and ease her tears.
silent , fat tears roll down her ruddy cheeks . she can’t even force words past the lump clogging her throat and it hurts . it hurts to see such innocent , defenseless creatures disturbed from their home like this . worse yet they may not even survive , their mother will never care for them and they may never learn to fly or fend for themselves .
she sniffles and messily wipes her tears against the back of her sleeve and falls to her knees , watching as the ranger puts the eggs inside an incubator . ❛ -they’re gonna be alright now ? right ? ❜ fatigued , she leans into the consoling touch and exhales shakily , feeling weak and stupid . she shakes her head- no . ❛ i don’t know who or why , i just- i found them like that and the nest was tore up ... coulda been a predator maybe ... ❜
