his brows furrowed. he wasn’t sure what to make of this. seth gordon didn’t usually do this. make an EFFORT, want to talk to them, ask any of them what was wrong or to listen to their problems. and because of this, he wasn’t sure what to make of this. was this some kind of joke? or was he meant to take this words seriously? he wasn’t entirely sure. either way, he sat down beside seth, dark eyes giving him a once over. still trying to make sense of all of this. “and what exactly do you want to TALK ABOUT, seth?” he can’t ever recall having a casual conversation with seth, what would they even talk about that wasn’t related to exy? he wasn’t sure, but he’d make the effort if seth was being SERIOUS.

“For fucks sake Seth, can you stop being all CRYPTID and say whatever the hell it is you want to say?” Dan nearly hissed. Normally she had a lot more patience to deal with the other foxes, as they were all a handful in their own way, and some more than others, like the monsters. Still, she had yet to have her morning coffee and she had stayed up late studying for an exam so she was basically RUNNING ON FUMES at this point. And having to deal with Seth being, well, Seth was not something she wanted to deal with right now.

“ oh? are you saying you fell in love with me? ”  her tone is light, teasing as she looks up at her boyfriend’s face from where she lay against his chest. wrapped in sheets that are a far cry from the ones she used to sleep on, but if she were honest, allison was far more content here. after all, here was someone who saw her as so much more than just the reynolds princess. who saw her strength and how much she fought for what she wanted, and let her fight for him.

she loved him, even if he made it so fucking difficult sometimes to. but now things were good, now they were happy together, and she wasn’t going to think about the future. instead, allison laughed before shifting to kiss him gently.  “ it’s okay if you did. i don’t mind. ”

“ i do hate you! ”  maybe if she said it enough then people would believe it. maybe she would believe it and actually stick with it this time. throwing her hands in the air, allison tried to resist the urge to reach for seth and shake him. praying that maybe she could shake some god damn sense into the man.  “ you can be so much more seth, i know that you can. but here you are, so fucking focused on self-destruction and making things worse. “

and wasn’t that the thing she really hated, the fact that she could see the man seth could be. the one who could make it in the world, despite how so many people tried to push him down. the person she really hated was the seth who just let them do that, who didn’t fight when he could. 

her eyes watered up, and it took all her self control to not let herself cry and therefore ruin her makeup.  “ it’s just so frustrating. because you’ve got so much that you’ve got going for yourself. you have so much talent and skill. you are so much smarter than people think you are. and i can see all that, but you just don’t realize it. ”
