Topi’s Daily Card #1019: Deadly Tempest
If you need to punish players who end up going exponentially wide in terms of creatures, then Deadly Tempest is for you. Much like Netherborn Phalanx, they both hate on large groups of creatures. Unlike the Phalanx though, this one not only punishes players for having large armies, it kills them all too. Six mana may seem a little steep even in EDH for a sweeper, but the mass amount of life loss that can come from this is pretty substantial. It’ll be fairly common for someone to be losing double digit life, and if you’re even able to knock someone out with this sweeper, that’ll make this card all the more awesome.
