1800 Miles to History
When I first heard about the new book that my friend Chris was putting out through his company Deadxstop Publishing I wasn't really sure it was something that I ever intended to read.
First time authors can either nail it or fail miserably, and just because you have a good story doesn't mean you're going to do it any justice by putting it down on paper. It's not the fault of the author, some people just weren't meant to write.
All that being said, Brian Keith Diaz and his first journey into published work, with 1800 Miles to No Where is a game changer.
Diaz, with his flair for the truth, no matter the consequences; shows up and makes you want to pay attention to every detail of his life. He doesn't hold anything back when it comes to his life of love, lust, and life on the road as both a musician and a rock n roll roadie. His bitter honesty about the places he's seen, the people he's met and every adventure and misstep along the way makes for a heartfelt and gripping journey that he has so openly invited all of us to join him on.
From his prank pulling antics with Fall Out Boy, to being there at the beginning before anyone had ever even heard of Motion City Soundtrack; to losing everything you thought you wanted then picking up the pieces and starting over - not because it was easy but because it was hard - Diaz shows that even the most lost souls can find their way in this world with a little bit of faith and a lot of good people who would stand by you no matter what.
Now, I'm not an expert, or a critic, or someone who really has any right to say you have to go out and buy this book. I'm just a regular person who's telling you to go out and buy this book. You won't regret it. I promise.
