The Book of Deadly Animals: But are they actually deadly?

Reading The Book of Deadly Animals is going very well for me, I am currently on page 174. The book is fairly unique in the regard that it is a conglomerate of scientific facts, non-fictional stories, and one man's opinion on them. The thing I enjoy the most about reading the book is expanding my knowledge about the various animals the writer talks about; I also throughly enjoy reading the stories that encompass what can happen when these animals come into contact with humans. Anyone who is interested in animals or animal and human interactions will enjoy this book; for example, in one chapter Grice informs the reader about black bears while also providing the reader with some interesting stories pertaining to black bears conflicting with humans and vice-versa. One major question that last week's reading of the book made me wonder about is: is there such a thing as an unprovoked attack by an animal on a human. I ask this because, based on the stories provided by the book, it appears that humans, whether it be in an extremely minute or very large way, always seem to be the cause for an attack on themselves or those around them.
