When I first started listening to Dean Friedman’s album “Well, Well Said the Rocking Chair” I immediately thought 1970s.  Lo and behold, this is was indeed made in the late 1970s.  I’d never heard of Dean Friedman - he apparently had a hit in 1977 with “Ariel”.  Frankly, I can’t believe he wasn’t more popular.

“Well, Well Said the Rocking Chair” is being reissued by Friedman himself.  He certainly had a sound similar to peers like Billy Joel and Elton John.  Current bands like The Lemon Twigs or Dario Garcia have revisited these sounds recently.

Friedman currently lives in upstate New York.
