One thing I find interesting about Grace is the writing choice to *not* make her the pastors daughter.

It feels like it’s so perfectly completes the trope she embodies, but she’s not.

I kind of like the choice in the sense that someone doesn’t have to be the child of a pastor to be a zealot like Grace is, but it also makes me wonder what Grace’s pastor is like, and also the meta reason this choice was made.

It is interesting to me that in the span of two weeks Steph went from saying "Well I wouldn't advertise it to the whole school" when questioned if she and Pete are friends to everyone around school regarding her as one of the four best friends of Richie's when she is brought in to talk to the police with the others.

Cause like, we see that after Max' death, everyone is nice to Richie. So they were trauma bonding HARD. Which like, yeah understandable but still, two weeks. TWO WEEKS. That is enough for people to be like yeah, they are friends.

And perhaps more interesting is how Grace fits into all that. Cause right before Richie's death we see Pete and Steph are indeed hanging out, and then before the police scene, Ruth is also with them so we have evidence of them hanging out. But seemingly the only reason Grace comes up to them is to talk to them about their newest problem.

The dynamics here are very interesting to me.
