“you have so many non-sexual turn ons.”
“i’m so crazy in love with you.”
"I'm so crazy in love with you."
The words are out of your mouth before you can even rethink speaking them. Not that it makes them any less true, of course. You're just well aware that your gaze wasn't situated anywhere decent on the person you love the most in this world.
"In love with me or my body, darling?" The teasing question causes your gaze to snap to mischievous blue-- amusement clearly dances within their sparkling gaze. "I just want to make sure I know which it is."
You roll your eyes good-naturedly. Stepping further into the closet-- that was more like a small room-- you approach their half-dressed form with a gentle smile on your lips.
"You know I love everything about you, M." You tug at their shoulder, making them turn around so you can wrap your arms loosely around their waist. "Absolutely everything."
An elegant brow arches. "Everything, huh?" You nod your head in agreeance. "I'm just going to let you have this, my love, but don't complain to me whenever I bring it up during a disagreement."
Adoration fills your heart at their thinly-veiled jibe-- the love clearly sparkling with azure blue eyes softening it entirely-- as you step closer into their loose embrace. Becoming even more aware that M wasn't currently wearing a shirt while doing so.
"Do we have to go to this barbecue?" You whine, a petulant pout tugging at your lips. "I'd much rather stay home and spend time with you."
M laughs brightly at your obvious ploy to stay home and be holed up in your shared bedroom. One of their hands swatting your own that had been resting teasingly on their taut bicep; even as the look of gentle adoration never wavers from their face. "You know we can't, baby," they murmur, tugging you closer to place a soft kiss on your forehead. "Father and mother have been raving about this dinner for quite some time. I don't wish to be on the other end of my mother's glare if we were to bail."
You shudder at the thought of getting on Regina's bad side as you remember, with perfect clarity, when Dean had been unfortunate enough to do so only a few months back. You don't think you've ever seen anyone look as dejected as he had-- even Rowan did everything to cheer up his son.
"You're right," you agree, only hesitating a moment longer. "I just wish you didn't look so good without a shirt." You sigh dramatically to prove your point. "It's not fair."
"I apologize, darling," M whispers, caressing your cheek with their thumb. "I'll try to tone it down for the dinner if that will make you feel better."
Shaking your head, you pinch their side. "You know that won't work. Everything you do is enticing to me."
They roll their eyes but a patient smile tugs at their lips. "It's not my fault you have so many non-sexual turn-ons."
That's something you weren't exactly sure they were correct on, but you weren't about to say anything in return. Not when you know they'd tease you about it if the time ever came to do so.
A gentle touch to your face pulls you from your reverie-- azure blue eyes staring into yours with a look of darkened amusement. "If you'd like to be a little tardy, I wouldn't be opposed to telling my mother there was traffic on the way to her house."
At the suggestion, and M's willingness to be on the other end of their mother's ire for you, you're met with another wave of love for the person standing before you. A person you had never thought you'd fall in love with so deeply, but here you were.
You just hope you're not too late for dinner, you muse as you pull M towards your shared bedroom. Regina is someone you’re absolutely terrified by.
Though it'd be totally worth it because you got M in the end.
