dear best friend,

you probably already know this, hell i feel like you know more about me than i do about myself sometimes. but you’re my best friend. and that means a lot to me. you’ve stuck by me no matter what, you’ve supported me, helped me. i couldn’t ask for more actually i could but that’s not the point. we’ve laughed together, cried together, joked together, we’ve done it all. you’re the coolest person i know. but don’t let it go to your head.

dear past me,

so you’ve made mistakes. i’ve had to face the consequences of them. but my presence here today shows that it wasn’t the end of the world. i pushed through  it. things happened, some good, some bad, but it’s all water under the bridge. it’s made me who i am today. so thank you, for all the right decisions and the wrong ones too. we made it. i crawled through the darkest of times, skipped through the happiest, but either way, i’m here now and i’m here to stay. so don’t worry about the future, bee. it’ll all work out, trust me.

dear plisetsky,

just admit it already, you’re head over heels for otabek. ok i clearly can’t take this seriously.

you’re so fucking young my dude?? and yet you’ve accomplished so much jfc. but please, please don’t lose sight of what it means to live. you’re successful, of course, but are you happy? does ice skating bring you joy that cannot compare to anything else? or do you feel incomplete, like there’s something missing, and you can’t quite place it? i’ll just say it: you remind a lot of viktor. i know, i know, he’s an old man now lol. but he was once your age. he poured everything he had into skating. until he was not much more than an empty shell, without purpose or happiness. don’t be like him. find what life and love mean to you. think about it. i believe you’ll find that the answers are not skating, but rather, something that holds a whole lot more importance in the long run. but in the meantime, keep being badass plisetsky. you rock.

dear ex-best friend,

i don’t know what happened, maybe we just grew apart, maybe we had a falling out, maybe some of your new friends just weren’t my type, but we just don’t see eye to eye anymore. i often reminisce about old times, when silences were comfortable and yet speech came easy. now it’s just… awkward, to say the least. i can’t say i hope to be friends again, but i hope wherever life takes you, you find your happiness. i hope everything works out for you, dude.
