The cruelest thing a writer could do is make one character jump in front of lightning to save another character screaming “NOOO!!!” And not make them canon. Just saying.

Bodies of Knowledge Conference @USC
Would y'all be interested in seeing a recording of my fandom studies talk about "Dear Bryke" or would that be boring?
!!!
My Dear Bryke essay was just accepted into its first conference! Lisa Duggan is the keynote and I am absolutely freaking out. Thank you so much to all my friends and followers who have given me so much encouragement and feedback on this essay. I hope I can represent the fandom proudly. :)
Dear Bryke,
I know that you guys said that you weren't going to do anymore animated Avatar things, and I respect that. But please keep to your word that you'll make some spin-off comics for LoK.
Especially designate a storyline to Kuvira's aftermath.
She deserves some closure, just as she deserves all of the lovin's.
You did it for Azula.
Yours truly,
Noxie
Thank You!
Wow! Thank you so much to all my new followers and everyone else who shared my essay! I have been so absolutely blown away by the response. You are all amazing, and thank you so much for building such an incredible community.
Dear Bryke,
I hear that aside from some side comics, the Avatar story has come to a close and you'll be moving on to other projects. That's fine, I suppose. You have a lot going with your repertoire of representing different cultures. Perhaps you can do some justice to the Wizard of Earthsea series? I think Ursula K. LeGuin would appreciate your work after what SyFy and Studio Ghibli did to it.
Think about it.
Sincerely,
Noxie
Dear Bryke,
If you continue LoK in comic book format, please get a writer who a) can handle writing female-female relationships maturely and b) actually likes Korrasami (whether romantically or platonically).
You got Gene Luen Yang and look what happened to Kataang.
Get Malinda Lo; I think she would do well writing Korrasami.
Thanks,
Noxie
