There are days the tiredness comes in both forms, physical and mental. She felt her body spiral into exhaustion, yet her mind was still revisiting her childhood memories. She could hear her mother voice echoing, it was like her mind was playing a videotape over and over again. Her childlike self was in her mother’s embrace- a comfortable safety for any child. It didn’t take long until the peacefulness faded away and she was left drenched in a red puddle. She screamed as she saw her mother laying lifeless on the ground.
“NO!” Aria hissed, burying her head in her hands. It didn’t take long until the memories faded from her head and the hacker was soon sent back to reality. Aria ran her hand through her dark chocolate locks as she tries to take deep breathes to calm herself.
“Tack gode gud!” The hacker sighed in relief when she turned her and saw a bar sign a few meters away. Only one thing could burn the anxiety right out– and that was alcohol.
The bar was quiet and empty. The only living thing in there was the sounds from the tv screen and bartender who was cleaning a few glass on the counter.
“Vodka.” Aria immediately told the bartender as she sat down, without even being aware that there was a man sitting next to her. Not that she didn’t care anyways…
The hacker swallowed the vodka down in one go and signaling the bartender for another. After a few shots, she could finally feel the alcohol numbing the high anxiety that she felt before.
Aria pulled out a cigarette from the pack that she was carrying and started to lit it, slowly breathing out a cloud of gray from her lips.
“Um…mam. No smoking, please.” The bartender said, gesturing at her cigarette.
The hacker raised her eyebrows as she continued to smoke without giving the bartender an eye contact, fully ignoring his request.
“Yeah, we wouldn’t want to upset all the customers in here,” she said in a sarcastic tone.
