It all happened suddenly so there wasn’t time for me to get back for the funeral in time. When I did get back home, I was sad to learn that most of his belongings had already been claimed by other family members or given away to Goodwill. A few years later, I was overjoyed when I stumbled across his old leather travel bag when cleaning out my grandma’s house. It immediately brought back memories of driving down to Florida with Grandma and Grandpa during the summers – Grandpa in the driver’s seat me in the middle and Grandma to my right. Road tripping with them are some of my earliest and happiest memories – memories I’m glad I get to carry around every time I use Grandpa’s bag.
