Death Parade | [Death Arcade]
Okay, so who watched Death Parade and didn't cry because of Yousuke's and Misaki's story really has no heart.
Death Parade
Alright, so I am pretty obsessed with this show. It has only been 5 episodes, but it has become one of my favorite anime's currently airing. The thing that always rattles my mind is who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. It the first few it seems kind of obvious, but in episode 4 it is really debatable. I don't know anyone who watches anime as much as me or even this show, so I'm gonna talk about it via tumblr. If you have any thoughts on the show and what I am about to say, please feel free to message me. Id love to discuss this show.
First time through I thought they both went to hell, 2nd time watching it I changed my mind and I think Yousuke is the one that goes to hell, simply because suicide is a really big deal. I haven't studied every religion, but suicide is like the most defiant act against god (self). While (sorry i forget the woman's name) she, when discovering that she has died, immediately thinks about her children and all she wants to do is go back to them. And her reasoning was that, even though she was trying to live her life, she was also doing it so that her and her family could eventually be happy. She thought she was doing the right thing. Her heart was in the right place, and she truly loved her children. Which is opposite in the guy's case. He knew how his step mom felt and her intentions and yet he put forth zero effort to build a relationship with her. I understand that he felt some way about his relationship with his real mother, but that doesn't give him a legitimate reason to not give his step mom a chance. In the end his heart was filled with regret and hers wasn't.
Both were crazy scenarios and the episode was super emotional. You almost want to send both of them to heaven once they break down and he hugs them. It even felt like Decim wanted to.
All three episodes where judgment was passed played out very interesting. Those ones were more obvious, especially after they showed a 2nd POV of the 1st judgment where they suggest that he fucked up. The fact that Decim has to pass judgment on his assistant is going to be interesting as well, when clearly he is going to get attached to her. He has only been an Arbitrator for 5 years so he probably even knew her in real life.
