By the way guys you know what you should totally friggin do? You should read the works of my friend Paige because she hella cool and good at what she does. Presently two stories are available: 

Spawn a short story damn it's so deliciously good. Set in a very original fantasy world, with a female protag who doesn't give a shit but not in the traditional boring "strong womahnnu" way, and I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful the imagery is. Dark. Twisted. Hauting. Captivating. If you an artist and into dark stuff - go get it. Pronto. If you anyone else also check it out. 

Death Defiant - a novel, a bit of a more traditional read. A layered main with one of the most unique abilities I have read about (immortality but like... original immortality!) caught between several warring fractions, leads one of them, the lore's pretty unique too. This writer just has a lot of imagination, okay? Oh and the romance I thought was gonna be totally cliche and predictable in the beginning, I rooted for them hard by the end.

A Review and Paperbacks

So I got my first review for Death Defiant. Confession: I may have almost cried.

She has characters that resonate with life in the same kind of real world thoughts and actions reminiscent of King. Her prose is concise and lends itself to the kind of roller coaster ride of momentum that you'd expect from a Jim Butcher novel. All in all a great read with an expectation shattering take on angels, demons and the humans that are invariably caught in the middle.

So yeah. Pretty pumped about that. It's amazing getting that kind of feedback, and I hope if you purchase(d) the book, you'll leave a review - even if it's not as shining as the one above. I love hearing everything people have to say about my work, even if it's "This is the worst thing I've ever read." Every piece of feedback fuels me to do better.

Now, as far as the paperback version that's coming, I'm apparently awful at estimating time. After 21 years of having this reinforced, I should know better, but obviously I don't. The paperback is almost ready to go. All I'm waiting on is the CreateSpace cover. Once I get that, I'll be ready to publish, and I'll be sure to let you guys know once it's live.

All in all, it's been a pretty good week. I've started working on DD's sequel, which already feels very different, and I've had my next series screaming in the back of my head. I can't wait to work on that one, but for now, Bel and Cheri need me, and I'm happy to oblige.

Also, the person she saves is asexual and a little genderqueer (you’ll understand when you read it).
