If Saitama did that to Genos, he would effectively destroy his own heart and his humanity. The torii gate, the gateway from mundane to sacred, to the spiritual realm, is Saitama's shadow, the darkness within.

Not Garou repeatedly reinforcing the bright idea that punching someone's face with a fist coated in bright, visible divine power-

-is great for shock value.

To the point it could make even gods and emotionless people lose control of their physiological functions.

One side of the brain going like "neat, that's objectively cool" and other side of it is going "That's useful, I wonder where I can put this to use".

Genos showed no visible reaction so it wasn't enough to impress Saitama with the notion that people see Death coming at their faces when he wills it.

And somehow Garou inadverently, taught him how to make his Serious punch visible. For shock value.

Also useful for later because he might need a flashlight or something. He sees poorly in the dark.

Or maybe...intentionally...was being taught...

(Now when I think about it, this serious punch is extremely fucking scary and extremely lethal and yes, very shocking...but it lacks cold, calculated, murderous willpower to kill. Saitama never wanted to truly kill Garou, because it went against everything he stood for and he held that sentiment to the very end.)

Killing his emotional side is the only way Saitama could muster enough willpower to actually murder something in cold blood. Since he does not like violence and so does not revel in it.

Is this our fabled Godslayer? He left Boros alive, he let Orochi live, he let Garou live too because he can't turn off his empathy.

Legit all OPM God needs to say is "Being alone in the universe is lonely" and Saitama could never finish him off properly by willing his Death punch into existence. He could try, but without it, divine power + divine power is just more explosive divine power.

There has to be a better way than putting the fate of the entire world upon the hands of someone who feels too much pity even for his enemies and who would need far too much prep time to get into that mindset.

Saitama is very impressionable when interacting face to face from his lack of upbringing and social contacts. To the point he passively just seemingly stores everything he sees into that brain of his.

Inluding these probably.

Divine power + spirit bombs = OPM God Empowered.

Ergo, enemy number #1.
