Some days I think about the things I’ve had to do in the course of my wet lab work in the last decade. A lot of it has been nasty (for most people, at least- ask me how I know Tamsyn Muir’s descriptions of viscera are accurate) and I think a lot of people would have refused to do it.
But at least my job wasn’t plucking the hair on squirmy rodents to accelerate the process under which their fur turns grey 💀
