Markus answered, gentle and low, watching the other android move, hearing the tension in the pitch of his voice. The angry scar across his face was evidence enough of what treatment he’d endured in the past, and the way his hands trembled, unsteady and twitching, synthetic nerves damaged, was a heavy weight of evidence. 

“Ralph.” He breathed, taking a tentative step closer, “They aren’t going to catch you. They aren’t going to hurt you anymore.” There’s a surety in his words; a promise. “Let me help you.”
