As much as he loved, and cared about Vanya, “To quote Hamlet, act three, scene three, line eighty-seven: No.”

˜”*°•. A black and inky night, nothing but heralding a turbulent and hostile storm. A race with disaster had he been running for a lifetime, hiding from the end, but also seeking it, provoking it. Beyond the farthest edge of night had he been standing, the threat never absent, always there, always known. A threat that was anger, that was rage, that was pain: for Vanya’s concession to this madness had been nothing but a scream for justice, an outburst decades old.
For a brief moment, the silence seemed to vibrate like a countless of waves: one wrong word, one wrong move capable of wreaking havoc on the whole world -- the tsunami pulling them down into the deep waters, drowning them, suffocating them --. And perhaps, if it wasn’t for their siblings, he’d have followed her willingly -- stepped off the cliff she’d been banished to for so long --. But she knew he wouldn’t do it: she knew he wouldn’t let them die. For all he cared about the cost.
❝ Surprisingly enough, I get that a lot. ❞ Sarcasm. Lips stretched upwards. The final response. The final decision. For if she wouldn’t wake up nicely, peacefully, he was willing to fight. Go to whatever length needed to bring his sister back, keep his siblings alive. But if he had to choose… But perhaps, he’d chosen already.
A blue glow appeared in his hands -- Vanya’s powers impossible to fight against, but still, somehow escapable --. ❝ Guess if you want to go on a killing streak, you’ll have to get past me first. ❞ A small shrug -- yet the light never fading, never weakening --. Such a contrast to the buried hopes that’d risen from their sepulchers. ❝ But then, you’ll be alone. And you DON’T know what alone really means. ❞
@whitcviolin / STARTER CALL.
❛ AH ------ sorry , can i help you ? ❜ he’s polite as ever , if a little confused as to why someone was knocking on his door. bucky was at work ---- he knows it’s not him. his parents were dead so that wasn’t likely. as he eyes the stranger , soft baby blues take in the state their in. ❛ ----- are you okay . . . ? ❜
❝ for what it’s worth... i am sorry you lost her. ❞ it is never a goal to see any of his siblings hurt, especially vanya who had the least among them. ( ‘no one is insignificant’ ) but sissy was to her and his weak spot would always be his siblings. his features soften looking over to her; compassion enriches tone as he speaks, ❝ ⸺ how are you holding up ? ❞ @whitcviolin.

˜”*°•. ❝ This is not right. ❞ The words trailed off slowly, merely a whisper. Gaze travelling around, anywhere but at her. After all this time, after all those battles -- those futile attempts, those fruitless plans --, the timeline had turned upside down. People that should be dead, roaming the grounds alive. And people that should be living, thriving, merely rotting under the ground. And there it came, that panic, nesting inside his head, dressed like anger, like rage. Wearing its best costume and coming out in waves of sheer mania. ❝ Damn it! ❞ A loud thud -- hand meeting with the wall // pain soothing, same as the numbness --.
Focus. You have to focus. Or they all die.
Mouth opened to utter something -- anything --, yet no sound made it out. All words locked upon the tip of his lips, fighting back, resisting the temptation of a freedom. Eyes shut briefly, another attempt at gathering the pieces of scattered courage. ❝ We should leave. For all we know, we could be next. ❞ Eyes once again settling upon the dead body -- the body of their brother // or well, the duplicate of their brother --. For residing in this timeline couldn’t have come without consequences: two versions of themselves walking side by side -- not everyone could just live --.

The puppy was mostly golden brown, though he couldn’t pin down a breed. It was likely a mutt, adopted from somewhere, and it let out a tiny bark from the box that it was in. It was in a gift box, and something told him he wasn’t supposed to find it so soon. He looked at it, and couldn’t find himself to be angry at it. After all it was one of his siblings who decided to get a dog during the winter holidays, despite no one in this family being responsible enough for a dog.
He picked the dog up, cradling it in his arms, because looking at it made him feel a bit gooey inside, and it was helpless and did not deserve to be stuck in the box. It attempted to look his chin. He let it. He then looked around the House and finally found Vanya in the kitchen, “Were you behind this?” he asked, bluntly, shifting his arms so the dog was obvious to her. The dog licked him again, and he paid it no mind, though they ( he and this dog ) were going to have to have a talk about it later.
